Only in New York: Radio Personality Mike Francesa Gets Police Escort to the Airport (VIDEO)

Mike Francesa, of WFAN radio in NYC, got a police escort to LaGuardia Airport today for his flight to New Orleans for the Super Bowl. WFAN is the flagship radio station of four Tri-State area professional sports franchises: the New York Mets, the New York Giants, the New Jersey Devils, and the Brooklyn Nets. Unlike regular New Yorkers running late for a flight, Francesa apparently has enough connections that he doesn’t have to worry about the terrible traffic on the BQE and the Grand Central Parkway.

Aaron Nagler, Senior Producer for NFL Video for BleacherReport.com, revealed Francesa’s elitism on Twitter.

Francesa has been on the radio in NY since 1987, and he is the kind of guy who is never wrong. He recently made a fool of himself by falling asleep in the middle of an interview with WFAN’s Yankees reporter Sweeny Murti, and then denied it when fans gave him a hard time about it. Video of him falling asleep is below and the look on his face when he wakes up is priceless. Here’s to Francesa and the NYPD for showing us exactly how small we regular folks are!
