This unbelievable image of the moment just before Kevin Ware was taken off the court, as his teammates give him encouragement, has been tweeted and re-tweeted over 2000 times.

After the injury, which happened as Louisville led Duke by just one at 21-20, Cardinals head coach Rick Pitino yelled to his clearly-shaken players who were gathered at the free-throw line and according to ESPN.com said, “Hey, [Kevin] wants to talk to you.”

What was said is unconfirmed, but it is rumored that Ware told his teammates, “Don’t worry about me. I’ll be OK. Go out and win the Tournament.” It’s that moment that is captured in the image above.

The Cardinals went on to pull away from the Blue Devils and won going away, 85-63.
