PHOTOS: Amateur Scientists Spy a Rat on Mars

NASA’s Curiosity Rover currently roving around Mars has spied something curious on the Red Planet. In a photo taken on September 28th of 2012 of the Rocknest site, the rover took a snapshot of what appears to be a rat. Amateur scientists at the UFO Sightings Daily website are pretty excited.

ScottCWaring, who found the alleged rodent commented, “Note its lighter color upper and lower eyelids, its nose and cheek areas, its ear, its front leg and stomach. Looks similar to a squirrel camouflaged in the stones and sand by its colors,” he continued. “Hey, who doesn’t love squirrels, right?”

My neighbor fished what she thought was a drowned chipmunk out of her pool last week, but when she saw it was a rat she flung it in a panic. She thought it landed in a tree -- she is going to be surprised when I tell her were it really landed.
