Woman Who Sued Kobe Bryant Jumping Into Politics

A woman who sued Kobe Bryant for purportedly proposing to her and reneging on his proposal is now making the jump to the political world in Ohio. The Columbus Dispatch is reporting that Selina Miller, who has filed a number of frivolous lawsuits including claims directed at Kobe Bryant and Denzel Washington, is running for Columbus City School Board.

Columbus City Schools constitute one of the largest districts in Ohio, serving over 55,000 students across 118 active schools. The election for school board will be held later this year, although a non-partisan primary will dwindle the field in May.

Miller made headlines when she filed the “engagement ring” suit against Bryant, which was recently dismissed by a California court. She had previously filed a suit against Bryant in an Ohio court claiming harassment after an alleged sexual encounter. That suit was terminated in 2009.

Miller has filed so many lawsuits that a judge ordered her, in 2003, to have her suits pre-approved by a magistrate judge. She will surely make more headlines in the weeks to come, if she approaches her run for elected office with the same tenacity that she approaches gold-digging civil suits.
