What Contractions? Mom-To-Be Blackhawks Fan Ignores Labor Pain for Playoff Hockey

Think you’re a sports fan? Well a new bar has been set, and henceforth all fan devotion must be measured by one metric: How dilated are you?

Awesome Chicago Blackhawks fan Donna Lebano went into labor in the 2nd period of her team’s playoff game against the Minnesota Wild last night. Did this committed fan start focusing on her Lamaze breathing techniques? Did she start timing the break between contractions? Nope. She turned to her sister and said ‘There’s no way we’re leaving this game.”

She stayed  through to the end to see her beloved Blackhawks trounce the Wild 5-1. But it was no smooth sailing once the final buzzer sounded, and Lebano continued to hang tough while stuck in post-game gridlock. But she shrugged it off. “There was definitely traffic, but we were all on such a high…because we’re in the playoffs, we had this massive win. Hossa had two — baby was gonna be his hat trick!”

Mom, dad and and baby boy Owen are doing fine, and are undoubtedly geared-up to see their Blackhawks take on the victor in tonight’s winner-take-all game between the Detroit Redwings and the Anaheim Ducks.

ViralRead note to expectant mothers: Instead of spicy food, yoga or a few laps around the block, we suggest simply tuning in for for some nice, relaxing cross-checking and an enforcer throwdown or two.

Happy Mother’s Day!
