School Ends Suspension for Florida Teen in Gay Sex Video

Like a lot of other teenagers, Robert Marucci has an after-school job. Unlike most teenagers, however, Marucci gets paid to have sex on video. When his classmates at Florida’s Cocoa High School found out about the 18-year-old senior’s unusual career, Marucci suddenly became the most famous gay porn performer on the Internet.

And the heart-warming angle? He did it for his mom.

Florida teen Robert Marucci was known as 'Noel' on a popular gay porn site.

Previously known only as “Noel” to customers of the popular SeanCody.com site, Marucci made headlines in Florida and nationwide because he was suspended from school last week, just a few months before graduation. After his fellow students and gay rights activists took up Marucci’s cause, however, the Brevard County school officials announced they had no problem with Marucci’s extracurricular activities and he would be welcome back at Cocoa High on Wednesday. “We would never suspend a student for his job or job-related activities,” school district spokeswoman Michelle Irwin told a Florida Today reporter Tuesday, after Marucci’s supporters lit up the Internet with angry protests over reports that the muscular blonde teen had been bullied for his gay porn career and then suspended.

There is some irony in this story, because Marucci “doesn’t identify as gay,” according to Miami New Times blogger Kyle Munzenreider, who said SeanCody.com is “known for using clean-cut, all-American type boys” in videos of graphic gay sex without condoms. In his five videos on the site, Marucci masturbates, is on the receiving end of anal sex with two different men, anally penetrates another man, and performs oral sex on yet another man in what Munzenreider describes as “a six-man bareback orgy.”

The videos show Marucci playfully laughing, loudly moaning about his orgasms, and cheerfully being penetrated by the impressively large penis of a tattooed “muscle stud” (to quote a review from a porn fan site we won’t link). But the scandal that got everybody’s attention wasn’t a teenage boy getting boned on video. No, the big news was reports of bullying by Marucci’s classmates and the reaction of the school’s principal:

A high school senior from Brevard County, Florida, was suspended last week for creating a “campus disturbance.” His crime? Starring in a gay porn video . . .“Noel,” an 18-year-old Cocoa High School senior, was “severely bullied” by several classmates after word spread of the video’s existence. Instead of doing something sensible, like punishing the bullies, administrators decided to suspend Noel for participating in a completely legal, non-school-related activity. The forced suspension then led to him failing classes, which prevents him from being able to graduate.

Not being able to graduate? That’s a terrible thing, unlike being butt-humped on camera. So Marucci and his mother did an interview with Orlando’s WKMG-TV in which mom declared how proud she was that her “awesome” son was doing bareback gay sex in videos:

“I feel like I have been treated unfairly and this is unjust,” Marucci said.  “This was completely legal. I didn’t break any laws, and this took place out of the school.”His mother, Melyssa Lieb, said she knew her son was working in adult films, adding that he took the roles to support her financially.”I think he’s the most awesome person in the world,” she said. “He stood up and he was the man of the house when I couldn’t be.”After word spread about his explicit pictures, Marucci said administrators expelled him, saying he was a major disruption. In a referral slip, administrators wrote that he threatened to brings weapons to the school — something he denies. His mother believes the alleged threats were not the real reason behind his punishment.Despite the allegations of threats, Lieb said the principal told her, “He was expelled due to his explicit lifestyle career.”

Many students at Cocoa High also support Marucci’s awesomeness: “A large group of students reportedly skipped 7th period on Friday and gathered to stomp and shout his name in the school’s quad in protest.” After his supporters took to the Internet in protest — flooding the Facebook page of Cocoa High with harsh comments — the Brevard County school district quickly decided it was all just a silly misunderstanding:

The district denies that Robert Marucci was previously suspended because of his role in gay pornography and said the principal, who has taken a lot of heat because of the incident, called Marucci this morning. Brevard Schools spokeswoman Michelle Irwin said Principal Stephanie Soliven and Marucci reached an agreement and he would return to school on Wednesday. She said that discussion was according to district policy and unrelated to a flurry of furious Facebook comments and feedback the district has gotten from around the globe after the story broke last week. Irwin did not have the policy immediately available.“It’s easy to become emotional about a situation when it looks like a student is being targeted for his lifestyle choices, that is not the case here,” Irwin said. “We will continue to work with the student and his family to make sure he graduates and moves on with his education.”

No word on whether Marucci plans to continue his porn career, but the brief controversy has at least made clear the official policy of Brevard County Schools that bareback sex on video is an acceptable “job-related activity.”
