Obama Recess Appointment’s Union Past Under Scrutiny

Barack Obama’s history of recess appointments is widely agreed to be less than stellar. Now, FOX News is raising questions about another recess appointment, that of former International Union of Operating Engineers lawyer Richard Griffin to the National Labor Relations Board.

The FOX story alleges that more than 60 Union members have been arrested and jailed in the past decade on mob-related charges. It goes on to assert that there is no evidence of Griffin’s involvement in illegal activity during his decades-long employment by the Union.

Despite that fact, this new information is sure to raise questions about Obama’s tendency to sidestep Congress and it’s Advice and Consent powers to appoint radical leftists to important positions in the Federal Government. The powerful NLRB especially has come under Congressional fire for the actions of its controversial former head, SEIU lawyer Craig Becker.
