Aaron Walker Swatted

Aaron Walker, known as one of the front-line bloggers fighting to bring light to the sordid activities of convicted domestic terrorist Brett Kimberlin became the latest victim of a Swatting attack last night. As Walker writes on his blog, police were called to his home with guns drawn:

I was writing when there was a knock at the door.  A second knock came and it was very insistent.  I went to the door and looked through the peep hole and there was nothing.  I said something like, “hello?” and someone firmly said, “open the door!”

I opened up to find two cops hugging the front of the house.  They had M4’s as I recognized from video games (see?! They are good for something!) and they later confirmed.  They were not pointed at my face like it had been with Patrick.  They were pointed at the ground.

I can’t quote them, but they said something to the effect that they got an emergency call.  I actually said,
“let me guess, someone claimed I shot my wife…?”  One officer confirmed it, and I said, “this is a hoax.”  I think I even said the word “swatting.”

This latest attack follows similar tactics used against Patrick Frey and Erick Erickson after they became interested in the ongoing Kimberlin saga. It follows threats that cost Walker and his wife their jobs and forced Robert Stacy McCain to leave his home to protect the safety of his family.

The National Bloggers Club (of which, for full disclosure, this writer sits on the board of directors), has set up a relief fund to provide aid to bloggers affected by this ongoing fight. Please consider a contribution to help them continue their fight.
