Massachusetts’ Governor, Deval Patrick will name his former Chief of Staff, William “Mo” Cowan as the interim successor to John Kerry’s Senate seat.

The announcement, expected to be made at 11:00 AM today, will officially kick off the special election for the seat. The short list of candidates include former Republican Senator Scott Brown, and Reps. Ed Markey and Stephen Lynch, both Democrats.
