Accused Florida Doctor Also Has Ties With GOP

FEC records indicate Dr. Salomon Melgen’s financial support is not limited to only Democrats in office. Records show that Dr. Melgen and his wife Flor Melgen have donated a combined total of nearly $20,000 to GOP House Representatives’ Mario Diaz-Balart (R-FL) and Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-FL). Both Representatives have Cuban backgrounds and reside in southern Florida.

Balart and Ros-Lehtinen have also highly praised the embattled Senator Robert Menendez (D-NJ).

On January 17th, Rep. Ros-Lehtinen had this to say about the Senator and his presumed Chairmanship of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee -

My dear friend and colleague Senator Bob Menendez would be an excellent choice for Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. His proven leadership and knowledge of international issues will guide this important Senate committee in the right direction and help shape our nation’s foreign policy.

Ros-Lehtinen also referred to the Senator as a “Proven leader and defender of human rights.”

Mr. Diaz-Balart also has extensive ties with Dr. Melgen and Senator Menendez.

In February of last year, Diaz-Balart and Menendez were guests of honor as Dr. Melgen’s news media organization VOXXI hosted a launch event in Washington, D.C.

Diaz-Balart, had this to say about the Senator -

He is a person of incredible courage and determination and he is one of those, who I feel privileged to have the opportunity to have gotten to know, to have been able to work with a true freedom fighter and one that makes our country and the Latino community proud.

During the event, Chairman of the Board and co-founder of VOXXI, Dr. Melgen, announced that Congressman Diaz-Balart would be joining the Board of Directors.
