As a soldier constantly surrounded by dozens of guys and a father of two young boys, sometimes all I want is to find a quiet place to be alone. Although I never would’ve believed it before, there is such thing as too much quiet. There is a room that has a sound level of -9 decibels (Yes, that is negative decibels). Apparently, it is so quiet that if you spend too much time in there it will drive you crazy. After coming home from a deployment, one sailor was allowed to sit in the room to bask in the silence.
