In a stunning attempt to completely alienate Green Bay Packers fans, former cheesehead hero, Brett Favre, reportedly gave key counsel to ex-Packers wide receiver, Gregg Jennings, to cut and run for the Minnesota Vikings.
“I spoke with Brett two or three times throughout this process. He shot me straight. I knew if there was one person that would shoot straight and tell me exactly what I wanted to hear and things I possibly didn’t want to hear, it would be Brett. He did that for me.”
There are no specifics as to what exactly was discussed between the two athletes, but reports have Jennings inking a 5 year/$47.5 million deal just one day after consulting the former Packers QB.
Chances are Jennings will be a perfect fit with the Vikings offense, replacing their previous go-to receiver, Percy Harvin, who recently signed with the Seattle Seahawks.
What remains to be seen is whether the move will tarnish Jennings’ folk-hero status with his former fans, which may entirely hinge on whether or not Favre also offered up any advice on texting saucy images to local sideline reporters.
We Packer fans so want to bring Brett back into the fold but he is just can't stop being a jerk. We made him everything that he is and he treats us like a first wife. The Packer legend is bigger than Brett and we will keep moving forward.
