Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) told Fox News’ Eric Bolling Saturday that the IRS should be abolished and the federal tax code simplified so that tax returns could fit on a postcard-sized form.
“Put down how much you earn, put down a deduction for charitable contributions, for home mortgage, and how much you owe,” he continued. “It ought to be just a simple, one-page postcard.”
“Take the agents, bureaucracy out of Washington, and limit the power of the government,” he said.
Tax lawyers, tax attorneys, and IRS bureaucrats, however, are likely secure in the knowledge that the system they have gamed which supports them is in no jeopardy of being seriously reformed.
