Part-Time Workers Far Outnumber Full-Time Workers In U.S.

If there was any doubt that the U.S. economy is being converted into a part-time worker society, a look at the following staggering statistics from ZeroHedge.comwill put those doubts to rest. Since April 2013, the growth in the number of part-time jobs v full-time jobs has dramatically increased. Incredibly, in June alone, part time jobs exploded higher by 360K while full time jobs dropped by 240K.

In July the trend continues. According to ZeroHedge, “Of the 266K jobs created (note this number differs from the establishment survey), only 35% of jobs, or 92K, were full time. The rest were… not.”

The most sobering statistic of all, though, is a look at the breakdown of jobs since the beginning of the year. The U.S. has created 953,000 jobs year-to-date. Of those jobs, a whopping 77% are part-time jobs. Full-time jobs account for just 23% of all jobs created since January 2013.
