It was just like a fairy tale…a fairy tale conceived by a team of producers and writers and ABC, the network that funded said tale.

Last night ABC aired the finale of this season of The Bachelorette. Apparently, one guy left the show and Desiree, the bachelorette, was heartbroken but ended up pulling it together for the big day, accepting a proposal from “runner-up” Chris Siegfried (not the partner of Roy).

Chris proclaimed, “I want to be your first, and I want to be your last. Will you marry me?”

Desiree thrilled cynics everywhere by clarifying that he is not her first and that-based on the franchise’s history- he will likely not be her last. She did, however, agree to marry Chris at some date in the future, after their contractually-obligated TV appearances are fulfilled. Just like what happened with Cinderella.
