NCAA Basketball: Big East Tournament-Louisville vs Syracuse

Just as Viral Read reported yesterday, the key for the Orangemen was forced turnovers as the Syracuse defense proved too much for 1-seed Indiana.

Indiana toiled mightily against Syracuse’s 2-3 zone, committing 10 turnovers in the first 10 minutes, 19 overall. The Orange finished with 11 blocks, holding Indy to a meager 34 percent shooting, and ‘Cuse coach Jim Boeheim was thrilled with the performance. “Our perimeter defense was tremendous. This is one of our best defensive teams ever,” he said in a post-game press conference.

Syracuse now has an Elite Eight berth, where they will face 3-seed Marquette on Saturday night in an all-Big East matchup.  This is the first semifinals appearance for the Orangemen since they won the whole thing in 2003 behind Carmello Anthony.
