The Avengers Part 2 is set to begin filming in early 2014.  And whereas the original record-breaking film was produced entirely in the US, the remake will be shot in the same UK studio that is currently filming Thor: The Dark World, Pinewood-Shepperton.

Thor: The Dark World will be in theaters November 8, 2013

At the moment, all but 2 of the main cast are expected to return.  Questions abound regarding the return of Robert Downey Jr, whose character Tony Stark/Iron Man was a main focus of the original star-sudded production.  Downey’s contract to play Stark is up after the release of Iron Man 3 on May 3, 2013 and his reprisal of the role will require negotiations with Disney Studios/Marvel.

The other hold-out in the cast is Tom Hiddleston, the British actor who plays Thor’s younger, attention-starved brother Loki.

Release date for A2 is set for May 1, 2015.
