Iron Man 3 has not even been released yet, and there is already a huge buzz on the world wide interwebs regarding who is going to replace Robert Downey Jr. as billionaire hero Tony Stark/Iron Man.
The blogosphere is all atwitter with options, including:
Relative newcomer Luke Evans, who has recently caught fire in The Hobbit and the upcoming Fast and Furious 6.
Nathan Fillion, star of TV’s Castle and Avengers writer/director Joss Whedon’s Much Ado About Nothing.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan, an intriguing character actor perhaps best known for playing The Comedian in Zack Snyder’s Watchmen, would be a dark-horse candidate at best.
And perhaps the most recognizable name that has been entered so far is Jon Hamm- star of AMC’s Mad Men and rumored possessor of impressive girth.
While Downey Jr. has not confirmed his departure, his contract as Tony Stark will be up after Iron Man 3 and negotiations will be necessary to ensure his return in either the Iron Man or Avengers franchises.
