Margaret Thatcher, Not Al Gore, Invented Soft-Serve Ice Cream

There are many famous people who are also credited as inventors. But unlike Al Gore, Margaret Thatcher is actually responsible for what is attributed to her. Before she was a well-known politician, she was a part of a research team at J. Lyons and Co. Her work with trying to double the amount of air in ice cream resulted in what we now know as soft serve ice cream.

This summer when you’re enjoying a nice big bowl of soft serve, just remember that the “Iron Lady” herself is responsible.
