27-year-old Jeff Bauman Jr. lost both his legs in the Boston Marathon bombing tragedy, and the iconic photo of him being whisked away from the scene has become one of the permanent reminders of the carnage of that day. He proved extraordinarily brave though when, upon waking from surgery, he asked for paper and pen and handed investigators a silver lining by describing ”Suspect #1″ Tarmerlan Tsarnaev.
He received a “silver lining” of his own when actor Bradley Cooper and New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman paid him a visit at the hospital. Cooper is in Boston filming his next movie, “American Hustle” and he and Edelman spent some time with the wounded hero and his family.
Edelman tweeted out his support for Bauman:
Bauman had been cheering on his girlfriend at the finish line when the bombs exploded. He received massive vascular, tissue and bone damage and doctors amputated below both knees. He then underwent an additional surgery for an injury to his abdomen.
Hello Jeff

Hey, Jeff
You truly are an American hero.
The picture of you being ignored by paramedics is extremely offensive.
Sincerely
