Media Fraud Alert: Vice President Biden Said What?

The ever-watchful eye of Andrew Johnson over at the National Review has provided the sixth instance of seemingly deliberate dishonesty to serve a political agenda over at MSNBC News.

Vice President Joe Biden, at the Benghazi Plaque Memorial, spoke about the dangers and sacrifices State Department Employees and their families make to serve their country overseas:

MSNBC’s Thomas Roberts, however, seemed to believe that Biden was actually grieving for “children as the victims of gun control.” Roberts went on to promote the push for gun control expected by Biden in the near future.

To be fair, one can see how Roberts mistakenly thought Biden’s speech was about gun control, since MSNBC edited clips of the speech thusly:

Monday, on MSNBC’s The Cycle, co-host Touré issued an apology for the network, calling it a “producer error.”

One has to wonder why this seemingly intentional error requires just an apology on an early afternoon show to make everything square, while Howard Kurtz‘s mistake concerning Sports Illustrated’s story about gay basketball player Jason Collins — admittedly awful but also unintentional — resulted in Kurtz’s firing from The Daily Beast.

Does journalistic integrity not matter when you are trying to push a narrative?
