Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin said Sunday that she’s worried about getting bogged down in the bureaucratic process as her state struggles to pull itself back together after this week’s devastating tornadoes.
“What I need is the ability to get through red tape,” Fallin explained on CNN’s State of the Union.

The beleaguered governor has managed to keep her composure as she surveyed some of the most heartbreaking scenes imaginable this week, such as the frantic search for missing children trapped beneath the rubble at Plaza Towers Elementary School in Moore, OK. Lloyd Grove of The Daily Beast wrote that Fallin “is emerging as the sort of political star that Sarah Palin was once widely believed to be.” And the Republican leader has demonstrated a valiant bipartisan streak by embracing the scandal-ridden president and Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano.
While Fallin did express her approval of the federal response so far, she maintains that the recovery process could be hampered by bureaucracy down the road.
