HOBBITCEPTION: The Internet Wins Again (VIDEOS)

Focus in, this is not for the faint of heart. Or for people who don’t like elves and dwarves and hobbits. YouTube users (and Lord of the Rings / The Hobbit / J.R.R. Tolkien super fans) Kellie and Alex, or “Kili” and “Fili”, members of the Tolkien fan site TheOneRing.net, did what any true fan would do when they watched the preview for the upcoming “The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug” - they filmed their totally unadulterated reactions. Watch below (feel free to stop about halfway through…unless you love discussing Tolkien):

Pretty average, albeit funny, YouTube fare. But hang in there, here’s where we mix in a little Inception-esque action  - we’ll call it “Hobbitception” since the girls do, and they’re absolutely right. Peter Jackson, the director posted this video, where we see Evangeline Lilly (“Tauriel”), Orlando Bloom (“Legolas”) and Lee Pace (“Thranduil”), all in costume as Elves, reacting to the YouTube video of the girls’ reaction:

Pretty awesome. Way to go internet, helping us continue to connect with famous people elves. But it wouldn’t be Hobbitception without a third “layer”, which perhaps is the layer that provides the most entertainment. See below as the super fans are rewarded for their loyalty as they watch the elves of Middle Earth watch them watching them:

So the lesson is anything can happen on the internet, and you can interact with anyone from any place on earth. This earth or Middle Earth. Way to go Happy Hobbits!
