Young Conservatives to RNC: Denouncing Gay Marriage is So Last Decade

A group calling themselves the “Young Conservatives for the Freedom to Marry” has written a letter to the RNC asking voting members to reject the recent resolution draft which condemns same-sex marriage and “. . .implores the U.S. Supreme Court to uphold the sanctity of marriage in its rulings on California’s Proposition 8 and the Federal Defense of Marriage Act.”

Prominent figures as S.E. Cupp and Meghan McCain among others have signed the letter in support of the initiative.

An excerpt from the letter reads:

Republicans must take a new approach. We can’t allow government discrimination of our fellow gay and lesbian citizens. We can’t hypocritically support this intrusion of Big Government into the private and peaceful lives of our family members, friends, and neighbors.
