Many people are comparing the recent tornado in Oklahoma to the tornado that hit the same area on May 3, 1999. As you can see the path of the 1999 tornado follows a similar path as the one today.
Here is a video of the tornado in 1999
The 1999 tornado killed 44 people in Moore, Oklahoma. The wind speeds of the 1999 tornado were recorded at 318 mph, the strongest wind speeds ever clocked on Earth. The one today has been estimated as stronger by some, but that is unconfirmed. However, today there was a larger death toll than in 1999.

Time will tell if the tornado had stronger wind speeds, but the devastation is not something that will be argued. People’s lives will be changed forever.
**As of this post the death toll has now reached 91.
