Senators Cruz & Feinstein Go Toe to Toe (Coulter Slams Feinstein)

Thursday morning’s Senate hearing on the proposed gun ban was a showdown between Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) and Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX).

The Texas junior Senator not only questioned the constitutionality of her assault weapons ban, but pointed out that she would most likely be a strong opponent of any legislation if it were to infringe on the 1st or 4th Amendment. Feinstein, a 20 year veteran of the Senate, took offense and accused Cruz of lecturing her, saying

I’m not a sixth grader, and I don’t need a lecture on the Constitution…Congress is in the business of making the law. The Supreme Court interprets the law. If they strike down the law, they strike down the law.

Cruz calmly repeated his question claiming she had failed to answer it the first time.

Later that night, Conservative commentator Ann Coulter joined the Hannity Show and slammed Feinstein.

Comparing Feinstein to another “I am woman, hear me roar” Democrat, Hillary Clinton, Coulter said “as soon as they get a question they don’t like, they start crying.” She called Feinstein’s Constitutional arguments “preposterous” and proclaimed that Sen. Cruz “nailed her so she said ‘I’m offended.”

Coulter later added that she thinks liberal women should not be allowed to hold office.
