In order for Jay-Z’s Roc Nation to become a full-fledged sports agency representing NBA clients, he will have to sell his stake in the Brooklyn Nets.
Nets interim coach P.J. Carlesimo would be disappointed if Jay-Z left. “He had an enormous amount to do with the rebranding of the team. I wasn’t close to it at all, but from what I’ve seen, it would be hard to overstate his importance in this all.”
Already, Shawn Carter, better known as Jay-Z, sometimes known as HOVA, has partnered with Hollywood agency CAA and signed New York Yankee second baseman Robinson Cano. CAA will represent Cano under their CAA Sports group until Roc Nation is official.
